Well, it’s not the snowiest beginning to our ski season. Those records were set — and broken — last year! But precipitation is expected to increase in the upcoming month, particularly down to 6,000 feet. So what does that mean for visiting Truckee/Tahoe? It means you can still hit the slopes all bundled up, then take off some layers and head on down to lower levels to enjoy stunning days on the lake shore or on the hiking trails that make the Tahoe area so magnificent. The beauty and options here are endless, no matter the season or the conditions.

Space is still available for the four-day MLK Weekend. Northstar, Squaw, Sugar Bowl, Alpine Meadows, Tahoe Donner, Mt. Rose are all within easy reach of Truckee. Skiing for Schools Discounted Lift Tickets

Participating resorts annually offer skiers and snowboarders access to discounted lift tickets and the opportunity to support local education. One hundred percent of lift ticket proceeds benefit the Excellence in Education Foundation. Generally good Sunday-Friday all season (excluding holidays), but verify restrictions before purchase.
