Tahoe Truckee Vacation Properties

Visit Tahoe this summer and bring your beach toys … and your skis!

It looks like California’s massive snow is going to stick around enough that our ski resorts are extending their season … Squaw Valley even plans to offer snow action until July 4th! So make your plans now to head over to Tahoe, but be sure to add some mittens to your summer wardrobe.This year’s snow totals — some of the highest in memory — are difficult to wrap your head around. Squaw has received 565 inches (47 feet) this season, including a 45-year record of 282 inches in January. Other ski areas in the Sierra Nevada also have seen mind-boggling amounts of snow:

  • 636 inches at the Mount Rose ski area in Nevada
  • 584 inches at Boreal Mountain
  • 556 inches at Kirkwood
  • 544 inches at Heavenly
  • 534 inches at Northstar
  • 510 inches at Mammoth

All that moisture, and Lake Tahoe is now at its highest level since 2006! It should be an epic spring and summer!

SnowFest! Winter Carnival
March 3rd–March 12th

Every spring since 1982, North Lake Tahoe comes alive with 10 fun-filled days and nights, jam packed with more than 100 events and activities for all ages. Events will consist of a Women’s Giant Slalom on Friday and Women’s Slalom on Saturday. Olympic champions like Squaw Valley’s own Julia Mancuso and Mikaela Shiffrin will compete on the legendary Red Dog run, which also played host to the 1969 World Cup and 1960 Winter Olympics.
