You excitedly arrive at your winter vacation rental, all prepared for some great snow play — only to find yourself locked out … or to see it occupied by someone else who also rented it or the full-time resident who didn’t agree to rent it … or to find a place that looks nothing like the photos you saw … or to find your dream vacation spot is actually an empty lot! Unscrupulous folks have made the connection that the Tahoe Truckee region is a great market for rental scams. That “deal” on Facebook or Craiglist may indeed be too good to be true …. and you may find your vacation off to a bad start when you fall victim to a rental scam.

How do you protect yourself? By renting through a reputable, proven rental management company that has insurance, is bonded, and has a contract with the actual property owner. We have been in business for 12 years and have seen the fraud cases increase in the last three years. We’ve had plenty of instances where people call us or come into our office looking for a last-minute booking because they were scammed.

And if you are a property owner looking to rent out your place, these scam experiences can make people understandably wary to respond to your listing. Using a professional management company can make the difference in renting your property on a timely basis, with good results and respectful tenants.

TART Bus ServiceLeave the driving to TART
Truckee to Kings Beach & Northstar

Starting December 15th, Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit (TART) is offering the Hwy 267 service between Kings Beach and Truckee, with stops at Northstar. The Night-Rider, which operates until 2 a.m. throughout North Lake Tahoe, will be free starting December 15th and offered throughout the peak holiday season. This allows you to get on your holiday cheer and get home safely.  As usual, the North Lake Tahoe Ski Shuttle will be operating holidays and weekends. More

Learn to Ski or Board ~ Tahoe Donner
January 9th–13th & 17th–20th

Never skied before? January is the perfect time to arrange your stay in Truckee as Tahoe Donner is offering Learn to Ski or Snowboard packages for just $39 for 10 days in January. These packages are only for first timers, which include an all-day lift ticket, rental equipment, and a 1.75 hour group lesson for ages 7 and up.  More
