April Events and Activities

June 13, 2018 by anoble Leave a Comment

March was terrific for fresh snow, and one might have thought that was the end of it .... but not so! Wet weather hit us hard the first two weekends of April, and nighttime temperatures helped boost our snowpack. While it's hard to predict how much or for how long, preliminary forecasts call for a roller coaster of weather that will bring more snow and extend the ski season just a bit longer. So Continue Reading

March Events and Activities

Three days of snow in early March brought a welcome sight to the Tahoe Truckee region, with a storm total of 4 to 6 feet of fresh powder. Boreal was reporting 72" of new snow, Alpine Meadows had 76", Squaw Valley 72", Northstar 55", and Sugar Bowl 53". This is that light fluffy stuff that makes for amazing days, with temps that don't freeze your fingertips. Blue skies will return  through the Continue Reading

It means you can still hit the slopes all bundled up, then take off some layers and head on down to lower levels to enjoy stunning days on the Continue Reading

Lots of excitement here in late September as Tahoe got its first dusting of snow ... and by dusting, we mean significant moisture below 6000 ft. If you're a skier, it just made you anticipate the season. And for those of you who are not skiers, take heart ... the temps are set to rise again to moderate levels with lots of sunshine for early to mid October. What a perfect time to come explore all Continue Reading
